Pie Crust

Ingredients:
Double Crust:
5 cups flour
2 cups butter Crisco
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 beaten egg

Single Crust:
2 1/2 cup flour
1 cup butter Crisco
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 beaten egg


     


Preparation:
Double Crust:
Mix flour and Crisco.
In 1 cup put 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1 egg, and enough cold water to make 1 cup.
Add to flour mixture.
Do not mix very much.
Roll out on a floured surface.
Brush bottom of crust with egg white.
Bake.


Single Crust:
Mix flour and Crisco.
In 1/2 cup, put 1 tablespoon, 1 beaten egg and enough cold water to make 1/2 cup.
Add to flour mixture.
Roll out on floured surface.
Brush bottom of crust with egg white.
Bake.


Note:
This was Vivian's Mother's recipe for pie crust.  It's really flaky and good.
