1 package Pillsbury nut quick bread
1 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice
2 apples, peeled and sliced thin
1 jar Caramel ice cream topping
1/3 cup finely diced walnuts
2 cups whipped cream, optional
Generously grease bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan.
Combine nut bread mix, nuts from package mix (foil packet), water, oil, eggs and spices in large bowl.
Beat 50-75 strokes with spoon until mix is moistened.
Pour batter into greased pan.
Top with layer of thin sliced and peeled apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and drizzle 1 jar of caramel ice cream topping over hot cake.
Top with 1/3 cup finely diced walnuts.
Put back in oven and bake for 5 more minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Top each serving with whipped cream, if desired.
