1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 (#2) can crushed pineapple
1 stick butter
4-5 slices of bread
Beat the first 3 ingredients well. Add pineapple.
Melt butter and brown bread crumbs in the melted butter. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for l hour. Use a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Note: I especially like to serve this with ham. Also, you can make this the day before and refrigerate until ready to bake. I think I’d wait and put the bread crumbs on prior to baking though. Although, you could get them ready the day before and store them in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator to save time and dishes.
